Resort Overview

Resort Overview

Point Yamu by COMO in Phuket, Thailand, is perched high on a peninsula overlooking the stunning Andaman sea and the dramatic limestones of Phang Nga Bay. This novel boutique hotel features a refreshingly contemporary design, and its elevated position yields a constant cooling and soothing sea breeze. The interiors of the hotel, a monochrome scheme with accents of blue, turquoise and orange, are thanks to Italian designer Paola Navone, who presents a unique alternative to Thai luxury. Bathrooms are decked out in teal and white ceramics, mimicking the surrounding landscapes. It is not only inside that boasts sensational aesthetic features; guests can take in the panoramic views from the hotel’s infinity pool, which is one hundred metres long.

The visionary design is extended through to the resort’s restaurants. Namhyaa Thai Restaurant resembles an underwater scene; large glass bulbs imitate water bubbles and half moon planks of wood mimic fish scales. Drawing upon nature’s bounty, the restaurant is inspired by Thai street food cooking, serving fish cakes, yellow crab curry, river prawns and whole fish. La Sirena is an Italian restaurant, a sleek poolside eatery where guests can choose to dine inside or out. Breakfast is an occasion to look forward to here, with a grand selection of local sweet-style martabaks, continental breads, fresh fruit and healthy juices, energising smoothies and home-made cereals. Lunch is a pleasantly casual affair of wood fired Italian cuisine such as pizza, and dinner includes a wide selection of antipasto platters, salads, pasta, raw and cooked seafood and a counter of cured Italian meats.

An oasis within an oasis, the resort’s private Beach Club on the blissful and little-known Naka Yai Island is just a thirty minute boat ride from Yamu pier. Here, guests can partake in water fun such as snorkelling thanks to the dedicated water sports centre, recline by the saltwater pool with a chosen beverage or indulge in signature local dishes and light bites at the beachside restaurant. Parents can take advantage of Play by COMO Kids Club, where endless adventures and exploration for little ones awaits.
