Description

Only Exclusive Travel Luxury Holidays in Thailand

Thailand, ostentatiously known as The Kingdom of Thailand, is a country of incredible beauty. Being the only country in Southeast Asia to have never been colonised by a European power, Thailand retains its pockets of authenticity, untainted by enforced adaptations in culture, and yet is modern and thriving making it a major holiday destination.

Thailand has many nicknames representing its multifaceted existence; it is many things to many people. Anciently known as ‘Siam’ until 1939, the country has a rich wealth of history to be discovered. The Thai use the phrase ‘Land of the Free’ to express pride in the fact that it has never been colonised by Europe. Our favourite nickname for Thailand, though, is ‘The Land of 1000 Smiles’, given due to its reputation as being home to the world’s most friendly inhabitants, who always welcome tourists and love to make new friends. We’re betting this is a huge contributing factor to why it is the most visited Southeast Asia holiday destination.

The largely tropical country is renowned for its fragrant cuisine using pleasingly pungent spices, aromatic lemongrass, lovely limes, red hot chillies, creamy coconut, the freshest meats and seafood. It is worth spending a few Baht to find your new favourite cuisine, which you undoubtedly will, before heading off for a nights entertainment. Nightlife offerings extend further than the predictable (yet infinitely entertaining and fun-loving) Lady Boys of Bangkok; see some traditional dancers using symbolic hand gestures and wearing golden headdresses.

Holiday Resorts Thailand

Our Luxury 5 Star Resorts in Thailand can situate you on mainland, such as Rachamankha Resort in Chiang Mai’s Old City, or on one of the stunning surrounding islands including Six Senses on the Island of Yao Noi or Conrad Koh Samui. The majestic mountains welcome exploration of the terrains, whilst beautiful beaches play host to Full Moon Beach Parties, or nirvanic relaxation when staying in Soneva Kiri. The landmarks are equally visually gratifying; visit the most sacred Buddhist Temple Wat Phra Kaew, the Grand Palace, or other unique tourist attractions in Bangkok whilst staying at the Oriental Residence.

Phuket is another popular place in Thailand; visit the illustrious Trisara Resort, with its tangible Thai flavour or the Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay nearby in Krabi. Or, head north and stay in the renowned Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai. Take your pick.

Weather

Thailand’s climate varies greatly depending on the region. A useful rule of thumb is that a hot tropical climate reigns throughout the year, fluctuating with slightly cooler months and monsoon seasons. The South-western monsoon season is from May to October, and the North-eastern monsoon season is from November to April. There is a fairly typical tropical climate in the far south, where temperatures only vary very slightly, and weather dominated by monsoons in the north.

The south of Thailand is where the tropical conditions are felt the most, before moving into a very typical equatorial climate in the very extreme south- in and around the popular Phuket area. Bangkok has a tropical monsoon climate and the highest average temperature of any city in the world.

Activities

We all have developed an image of the pursuits Thailand can offer us, and if you're imagining the same things as us, it won't be too far off. Visit exotic wildlife in sanctuaries, visit the beaches for partying and relaxing, shop til you drop, or find a more leisurely pace whilst fishing.

Countryside & Wildlife

Countryside & Wildlife

Thailand’s tropical landscape shelters some of Southeast Asia’s most charismatic and endangered wildlife, including tigers, Asian elephants, Malayan tapirs, clouded leopards, and hornbills. Its diverse array of habitat types range from montane, seasonal, and moist evergreen forests to swamps and mangroves. Although most of the country’s remaining forests are fragmented, they are now largely protected in national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.

Watersports

Watersports

It is not called the Caribbean of Asia for nothing. Yachting in Thailand means cruising in uncrowded waters, where you are more likely to come across exotic local vessels, such as traditional "longtail boats," than hordes of cruising yachts. It means exchanging pleasantries with friendly local fisherman, and perhaps even buying their catch for lunch. It also means discovering small island communities, with curious yet welcoming villagers. A surge in the development of marina facilities and in the number of yachts available for charter set Thailand to burst upon the international scene as the world’s newest yachting playground.

Trekking

Trekking

The National Parks in Thailand are good for hiking and walking. They have camp sites and bungalows, and tents are usually available for rent. The Thai National Parks website allows a search by activity or province. The North of Thailand is the most popular region for trekking because of the cooler temperatures; Tak province and the Doi Inthanon national park near Chiang Mai are both popular regions for short and long treks.

Underwater Activities

Underwater Activities

Scuba diving is Thailand’s most popular water sport. The country boasts some of the most beautiful dive sites in the world – the water is clear, the sea life is plentiful, and transport and accommodations are readily available. Diving in Thailand is comparatively cheap, and once you have achieved your certification in Thailand, you can use it to scuba dive all over the world.

Fishing

Fishing

Fishing in Thailand has always been an important part of the culture, primarily for food but over recent years, sports fishing in Thailand has become one of the most popular activities among Thais, with many making angling a regular social and family event. More recently Thailand has become an angling Mecca for many visiting foreign fishermen, lured by the prospect of catching that megafish of a lifetime.

Helicopter Tours

Helicopter Tours

Thailand has spectacular countryside that is uniquely appreciated from above. For an unforgettable day trip there are helicopter tours over the coast or countryside and a few opportunities to sail through the air in a glider (a motor-less airplane). There are even charter planes available from Pattaya for flights over nearby islands. Helicopter rides are available in major tourist destinations, such as Phuket and Chiang Mai, which have conveniently located air strips.

Golf

Golf

With modern facilities, internationally designed golf courses, and an excellent infrastructure, Thailand has become a natural attraction for golfers. Thailand has more than 200 courses throughout the country and hosts many tournaments, including internationally renowned Honda LPGA and the Royal Trophy – Europe vs. Asia Golf Championship. With ease and extraordinary service, if you know where to look, Thailand is a golfer's paradise.

Shopping

Shopping

Shopping in Thailand allowes you to venture from upscale shopping malls and department stores to high street shops, back street stalls, and bustling markets. Thailand offers such a fantastic array of both traditional and modern goods, from exquisitely constructed handicrafts to elegant designer fashions, superb antiques to the latest electronic gadgets, everyday clothing to gorgeous artworks.

Horse Riding

Horse Riding

Whether you are an accomplished rider or simply looking for a new experience, individuals, couples, and entire families can enjoy horse riding in many different regions of Thailand, including short strolls on the beaches near Hua Hin and full day trips exploring the forested hills of Koh Samui. Professional instructors can get first time riders up and riding straight away and experienced guides are adept at leading riders along trails through the jungle. Horse riding is a wonderful way to explore Thailand’s beautiful nature and have a memorable vacation experience.

Nightlife

Nightlife

Thailand is renown for its nightlife and one of the best things about going out in Thailand is that there are usually lots of different scenes to choose from. While there are lots of trendy discos and high-end nightclubs in tourist-heavy spots, there are also local clubs and watering holes everywhere. Thailand is a relaxed country full of friendly people who believe "sanook" (fun) is an important part of life. You don't just go out in Thailand, you go ALL out.

Beaches

Beaches

With over 1,000 miles of coastline, Thailand offers such a profusion of sandy beaches, sheltered bays, quiet coves and idyllic islands, that the choices for a holiday in the sun are near limitless. Each location has its own distinct character, so whether the choice is for an action-packed vacation, a fun-filled party scene, or a lazy escape into a serene tropical paradise, all dreams of the perfect beach are wonderfully fulfilled. What remains constant is the year-round sunshine!
