Resort Overview

Resort Overview

Set on its own private island in the Sulu Sea, Amanpulo is the epitome of a tropical paradise. Amanpulo, or “peaceful island”, is surrounded by white sand beaches and crystal-clear aquamarine waters teeming with marine life. The resort’s casitas are situated on the beach, amongst the treetops or on the hillside overlooking the Sulu Sea.

Loosely modelled on the Philippine Bahay Kubo (native dwelling), Amanpulo island resort accommodation choices (named 'casitas') are set on luscious beachfronts and are twin-roofed bungalows. Decorative interior details give off a distinct reminiscence of the island in which the casitas are set, with pebble washed walls, coconut-shell tables, rustic Palawan rice and knife baskets, a king-size bed with a rattan headboard and sliding-glass doors that reveal outdoor decks and his-and-her divans. Each guest casita has its own private buggy for circumnavigating the island independently.

The Clubhouse Restaurant has a beautiful terrace with views to Manamoc Island across the sea. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here, and the menu features Asian and Continental cuisine. Island elements comprise the design, such as Cebu rattan chairs and local lawan wooden columns. The Lagoon Club serves Thai-inflected dishes and a melange of seafood, including crab, lobster and grouper. Food provenance is taken seriously at the resort, the island’s garden grows four varieties of tomato, herbs, aubergine, pumpkin and beans, promising delicious and nutritionally-dense salads.

Situated on a hillside with views of the Sulu Sea, the resort’s Aman spa consists of a series of Pavilions constructed of native wood. Traditional Filipino health practices including foot therapy take place at the spa. Originating in mountain provinces, the treatment involves the use of therapeutic strokes with bamboo sticks to stimulate energy lines. Enjoy aquatic recreation on the island, the Sea Sports and Windsurf Huts provide fishing equipment, kayaks and wind surf gear. Observe miraculous underwater displays in the crystalline waters, where visibility levels are incomparable.
