The Singapore Sling is now known as a refined yet classic cocktail, loved by all throughout history. Ingredients include gin, cherry Heering, Dom Benedictine, Cointreau, sarawak pineapple juice, lime juice, grenadine and Angostura bitters with a pineapple and cherry garnish.

Cocktails at Raffles Singapore Hotel – Raffles Timeline Cocktails

Other recently developed "Cocktails at Raffles Singapore Hotel" are Raffles Timeline Cocktails, a range of cocktails drawing inspiration from the history and stories surrounding the 125 years of Raffles Singapore.

The Stray Tiger cocktail came from the story of the last tiger in Singapore, which was rumoured to have been shot under the bar and billiard building at the hotel in 1902. The cocktail is a feisty beverage embodying the excitement of this pioneering time in Singapore, layering white rum, Cointreau, vermouth, fresh lime juice, absinthe and lemongrass foam.

Raffles Timeline Cocktails at Raffles Singapore Hotel also pay homage to the hotel’s literary and cinematic patronage. The Pretty Polly is inspired by the 1967 film “A Matter of Innocence” starring Hayley Mills and Trevor Howard that was shot in Singapore, including some scenes in the hotel itself... the movie stars were also guests at the hotel! The film is based on a short story written by Noel Coward, a former regular guest at Raffles.

When Somerset Maugham, the British playwright, novelist and short story writer, first visited Raffles Singapore in 1921 he exclaimed that “Raffles stands for all the fables of the exotic East”. The phrase became well-used both by the hotel and its fans to describe the hotel even to this day. Indeed, they named a cocktail after his statement: Fables of the East. The cocktail is an exciting combination of Ron Zacapa 23 yrs, St. Germaine, passion fruit purée, fresh calamansi juice and chamomile syrup.
