Your Luxury South India Tour starts here...

Day 1 – Arrive in Hyderabad

At the beginning of your Luxury South India Tour with Only Exclusive Travel you will be met by  your representative who will accompany you to your first hotel, Taj Falaknuma Palace.  Falaknuma Palace is one of the finest properties in India – expect the finest hospitality, cuisine and unimaginably embellished and refined décor.

Day 2 – Tour of Hyderabad

A knowledgeable, English speaking local guide will take you on a tour of the heritage palace hotel that was once the home of the Nizam royals, before introducing you to the city of Hyderabad itself. Gain acquaintance with the intricacies of Hyderabadi culture as your guide points out fascinating sites of historical and cultural interest.

Hyderabad is a melting pot of Muslim and Hindu cultures and has a legacy of both Persian and Islamic influences – it is an integral location in our Luxury South India Tour. Visit Chowmohalla palace, also once the beautiful home of the Nizam rulers, followed by a visit to the Nizam’s Museum at Purani Haveli which houses the world’s largest wardrobe amongst other artefacts!

Climb the Charminar and see the Mecca Masjid from the top. Walk across to the Laad Bazaar and barter for some ittars (essential oils), Soorma (kohl), Mehendi (henna) and spices. See the local artisans make the famous bangles and the embroiderers work on silks, before heading back to Taj Falaknuma Palace for the evening.

Day 3 – History and Culture

No Luxury South India Tour is complete without learning something of the fascinating history and culture of the region. On this day you will be given the opportunity to visit Golconda Fort, one of the most important sites in Hyderabad. Interestingly, it is one of the least visited attractions, but it remains one of the most magnificent forts in India, comprising a citadel built on a 120m high granite hill. The 13th century fort is surrounded by crenulated ramparts constructed out of large masonry blocks and was built by the Kakatiya rulers.

After that, you can visit the centre for training and revival of textiles, which aims to continue the traditional methods of textile production which are now waning, and provide valuable support to its workers and surrounding community. Meet the local textile artisans who work with dedication and dexterity to create fine, intricate pieces of art. One of the causes of the organization is to empower women and those who have limited means of livelihood, and educate underprivileged children. If you desire you can purchase exquisite finished textile items and support the cause, or simply browse the exquisite fineries.

Day 4 – Arrive in Coorg

Arrive at Coorg’s Vivanta by Taj and soak in the refreshing, verdant landscapes surrounding the property. Set amidst verdant valleys of the hilly Western Ghats in acres of coffee and oranges, you will notice pleasing subtle aromas wafting across from the plantations. Settle into the hotel for some well earned rest after your Hyderabadi excursions!

It is in fact an enigma of mud huts and skyscrapers, age-old traditions and high fashions; the industrialist’s haven and moviemakers Hollywood.
