Resort Overview

Resort Overview

Weaving between the magnificent ebony-trees on the lush green banks of the Sand River, Singita Ebony Lodge is spectacular. Located in the heart of South Africa’s leopard-rich Sabi Sands, guests are totally immersed in Africa’s breathtaking landscapes and magnificent wildlife.

Representing the wild heart of South Africa’s Big Cat Country and bordering the famous Kruger National Park: Sabi Sands Game Reserve is every bit as breathtaking as its prestigious neighbour. Guests are likely to catch sight of the wild leopard, lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant, reedbuck, hyena, hippopotamus, nyala and cheetah species which roam this magnificent 45,000-acre reserve. Spectacular daytime and evening game drives with professional guides present unforgettable opportunities to get close to these spectacular creatures. All are included within the original tariff and offered at no extra cost.

Return to the ebony-covered banks of the Sand River, and your gorgeous Singita Ebony Lodge awaits. The 12 spectacular dwellings are each a stunning example of timeless safari style and modern innovation. Elegant wooden and aged bronze textures and vintage campaign furniture blend with contemporary river-facing glass walls, horizon-view plunge pools and luxury amenities to beautiful effect. Pass lazy mornings spotting wildlife from your plunge pool or outdoor pavilion deck - suspended above the river bank as if hanging from the wild ebony and jackalberry canopy above. The two multi-room Family Suites are perfect for those with younger children, while families with teenagers are ideally suited to the adjacent Lewis suites.

Time not spent on safari can be passed visiting the African art gallery, library and gym, sipping champagne in your personal plunge pool or relaxing with an aromatic Pinda Wisa Massage in the Spa. Photographers of every level will appreciate the excellent range of wildlife Camera kits available to guests, and the one-on-one post-production advice offered upon return. Dreamlike meals are taken in an elevated dining area, which gazes over the glistening Sand River. In the evening, the open-air boma, bar and extensive wine cellar await. Singita boasts an award-winning collection of vintages and the resident sommeliers are more than happy to guide guests through the range of styles, years and cultivars.

The wonderful Mini Rangers Course, children’s spa treatments and the stunning Family and Lewis Suites make Singita Ebony Lodge a fantastic destination for families. Animal tracking, astronomy, bush survival techniques and wildlife spotting competitions will capture their imaginations, while childcare is available if arranged in advance.
